Half marathon and marathon

Planned backwards
from the starting gun.

A 16-week PDF does not know you slept badly on Tuesday. paceos knows at 06:40 and has adjusted your threshold session before you get up. The plan stays aimed at race day. The days in between belong to your body.

Enter race date and goal time, pair your watch, go. Existing runs from Garmin, Strava or Apple Health are imported.

How does paceos build a marathon training plan? You enter race date, distance (half marathon or marathon) and optionally a goal time. paceos splits the time until the race into base, build, specific and taper, inserts a recovery week after every build phase and progresses threshold runs, intervals and long runs in small steps whose size your progress sets. Every morning, readiness adjusts today's session. If the goal is too ambitious for your form, the coach tells you and suggests alternatives. As of October 2026.

Periodisation

Built like the pros.
Planned for your life.

The phases are fixed. Their length follows your race date, their content follows your data.

Phase 1
Base
Volume and routine, easy. Long run grows slowly.
Phase 2
Build
Threshold runs and long run get longer.
Phase 3
Specific
Race-pace segments, long runs with tempo portions.
Phase 4
Taper
Volume down, freshness up.
Recovery week after every build phase

Key sessions that grow with you

Threshold, intervals and long run progress in steps that fit your distance. How big the steps are is set by your progress, not a table.

The week around you

You set run days, long-run day and your time during the week. Strength and mobility are scheduled. Miss a week and the plan adapts without restarting.

A review every week

If all went well, it keeps building. If it was too much, it consolidates first or brings the recovery week forward. After every key session paceos asks: "How did it go?"

Honest goal check

If the goal time does not match your form, the coach tells you, with a prediction and alternatives. Better in October than at kilometre 32.

Pace zones from real runs

Threshold pace and five zones come from your data and are updated after every race. Every session on the watch has pace and heart-rate ranges.

Recovery that fits you

paceos learns how long you need after a long run. 49 hours or 70, for you, not for the average. The next hard day comes after that.

Race-day mode

On race day, paceos
thinks along with you.

In the days before the race you get a carb-loading plan. On race day itself, pacing for start, middle and finish plus a fueling plan, matched to distance and goal time. No maths at the start line.

Pacing in three segments

Controlled start, stable middle, finish by feel. With target paces that come from your form, not wishful thinking.

In-race fueling

When to take a gel, when to drink, how many carbs per hour. Matched to distance and duration.

Carb loading before

How much, from when, what. The days before the race decide the last ten kilometres.

After: recovery

After the race the plan does not just carry on. A protective phase brings you back, pace zones are updated with the result.

Marathon training questions

What racers ask us.

How many weeks before the marathon should I start with paceos?

Ideally 16 to 20 weeks before the race, at least 12. paceos splits the available time automatically into the four phases. Existing runs are imported at the start, so you are not starting from zero.

Does paceos adapt to my real life?

Yes. You set run days, long-run day and time budget. The morning decision considers sleep, recovery and load over the last 48 hours, even if it did not come from running.

What happens in the recovery week?

Volume and intensity go down so the previous weeks can take effect. paceos also brings a recovery week forward if the runner model shows you need more than planned.

Does paceos predict a finish time?

Yes, from threshold pace, volume and form there is a prediction. If your goal differs strongly from it, the coach tells you and suggests a realistic alternative.

Can I plan a half marathon and then a marathon?

Yes. After the first race comes a recovery phase, then the plan builds towards the next goal. Pace zones are updated with the race result.
